Richard has been focused on bringing improvements in social, economic and environmental outcomes in a resource constrained word for over 30 years, firstly as a consulting engineer in the built environment sector and more recently in leading digital transformation as an enabler of smart infrastructure.
He led the global BIM initiative within Mott MacDonald from 2011 to 2017, driving forward the understanding of the value of information across the whole life-cycle. As Chair of the Association for Consultancy and Engineering Digital Transformation Group he leads a programme of presentations and support across the UK. He is also Chair of the FIDIC committee bringing BIM integration to their suite of contracts. He had led industry events and presented at many conferences around the world, bringing a business-led approach that focuses on added-value and enhanced outcomes.
His current role as Global Digital Business Development Director brings the value of digital transformation to Mott MacDonald clients across all infrastructure sectors through optimising the performance of assets and systems, both new and existing. In addition to his work with Smart Infrastructure he is part of the leadership team for Mott MacDonald Digital Ventures, a new business that connects innovation to enhanced outcomes for people.
